When I was in high school, they only had student drivers. They paid us $35 a month.

"Remember When".
...The great Alan Jackson didn't have a rare degenerative disease - announced this week. He made that beautiful video with his high school sweetheart wife, mother of his children.

Can we remember when People named him one if the most beautiful folks on the face of this earth?

No, but there's a place in... Murphy? I forget now. But they still make taffy on their Main Street, and you can stand on the sidewalk and watch!

Here's one for you...

Ataris. One joystick, one button.

I played Chopper Command until my joystick broke!!

Do any of you remember taffy pulls? My grandfather made molasses and while boiling the juices the taffy would form on the top.

I was a student bus driver. Girls would ride my bus who lived on other routes and have their parents pick them up at the end of my route just to be close to me. My sister had lots of girl friends who wanted to stay the night so they could see me. That is actually a true story. It seems I have always been the man.

Actually, I was pretty loved in high school. I was pursed. It seems girls like punks who type.

Fred, if you want to talk about that then how's about a new thread? I hate to take this one off topic, it's fun

it was Acumen. He made a woman a good house wife.

That wouldn't surprise me... after we grew up, pretty much every woman fell in love with that guy! LOL

From 1999 to 2014, the average number of days between shootings was 124 days. From 2015 to 2018, the average was 77 days.

But anyway, speaking of school.

Remember Home Ec class? It was more or less expected that girls would take Home Ec to learn how to cook and sew, while boys would take shop or something.

We had one boy in my Home Ec class... he probably thought it would be a way to get in with the girls, but we all just thought he was gay it was Acumen. He made a woman a good house wife.

I took typing in HS because that was where all the girls were.

You're talking about school shootings? That's nonsense. Remember the one in 1989 where the guy shot 37 children at an elementary school? Or the one in 1998, where the 15 year old kid shot 27 people in his high school? Or the one in 1966 where the guy went up the clock tower and shot 49 college students?

Statistically, the number of school shootings (and deaths and injuries in those shootings) is a LOT lower than it was 25 or 30 years ago.

I remember when every truck in the parking lot at the high school had a gun in the rack.

School shootings were unheard of then, what happened?

You started listening to the news... there were a LOT more school shootings back then, you just didn't hear about them.

Remember the hamburgers at Wayne's place on 18 north & the skating rink

After he passed his wife ran the place and you could order anything you wanted but she brought you what she thought you needed
