Someone know who did it besides the one that did it. Enough money will bring them out. Just offer a big reward.

I know exactly who got the money Marie. Ginny sue and Troy. Yes they made a mess of the house but even any police officer should know to preserve the crime scene. They should have closed the house till the proper ones could collect evidence. You don't let everyone walk through the house who had no business there.

In their defense no one involved had ever worked a crime like that before.Training was not any where near the standards today. No one really knew what to do,

The crime scene was trashed, they let every one in law enforcement in the county tromp thru it, EMS Firemen and even one of the county commissioner's came out and walked thru, When I went thru rookie school a couple of years after it happened it was taught as a example of how NOT to handle a crime scene.

Money at the time may have not been an issue & left behind, pretty clever. Yet there was one Heir to the estate. Anyone remember who that was??? It was worth 1/4 million or more. In 1972 that was a huge sum of money.. Not pointing fingers, yet it may have been for the long haul instead of an envelope stashed with cash & left behind. That would have been the Dinger in my view......

There was a drug gang using car haulers to transport drugs not to long ago in this area. However, I would look at the OP as a possible suspect. This maybe just a bragging post.

This was not done for money. They left the money bag with money from dealership. This was more about drugs and it wasn't the durhams that messing with drugs. They hated drugs. It's more likely someone was afraid they would tell on them.

I read the story a few years ago. it scared me just to read it and know people can be so greedy for money. The story sure pointed the finger at the daughter and her hubby. How can a child kill their parent's for money? I know it happens all the time, but what a scary thought.

I don't think they want to solve it because the only ones that could get to files are in law in force ment. As far as family is concerned the son in law left the daughter when money was all gone. Moved to Georgia and is lawyer and goes by Justin hall not Troy. This one will never be solved because it was well planned and lies were told. I guess some are scared to tell. Sad days when this can happen. You can read all this on Internet. Durham murders in Boone,no. 1972 I think. If that had been my father, mother and brother I would want them caught. Life goes on. You

I was in college at ASU when this happened. Everybody in town was scared. Not many folks you could find that wasn't carrying a gun or some sort of weapon.

We know someone killed these people, but what about those who have seemingly vanished into thin air? Someone, somewhere knows what happened to these people.

It is still an open case. They know who did it, just not enough evidence to take to the grand jury.

No sad to say it will never be solved. To many lose ends and leads not followed up.

Forensics have came a long way since these murders happened. Files may have been misplaced in some other investigation folder by accident. I believe if this investigation has been closed as a cold case it should be reopened, realizing we have more modern ways to investigate crimes now than we did years ago. The authorities that is used to restart an investigation has to do with how experienced they are and how hard they want to work to get to the truth.

Is that the ones that were found drowned in the bath tub and they thought the daughter and her hubby did it? I read a story about a murder in Boone, but I don't remember the names.

Does anyone think the Durham murders in Boone will be solved? I don't. What I read online most of the files are gone and murder cases are never closed if unsolved. Who would have access to the files for them to be missing? Think about that .
